July 18, 2025. You teach me to live wisely, to be patient and to know how to overcome difficult situations. Twice you overcame these...

 Dear Jesus,

There are times when I am troubled, lose my mind, get angry, respond to other people with anger, with unwise responses. Fire needs dry wood to burn. The above negative attitudes need an object to explode. Those anger and hatred come because I lack patience. Patience arises from the ability to endure unwaveringly.

You teach me to live wisely, to be patient and to know how to overcome difficult situations.

Twice you overcame these situations, when you were trapped by the Pharisees.

The first time was in the incident of “the adulterous woman caught red-handed”.

They brought that woman to you for judgment. According to the law of Moses, she must be stoned to death. You did not answer, but wrote something on the ground with your hand.

If You answered:

"Just follow the law of Moses."

They will say that You preach mercy, but act contrary to your teachings.

If You say to forgive this woman, they will say that You do not follow the law of Moses.

Either way, You will fall into their trap.

When they continue to question You, forcing You to be the judge, You say:

“Whoever among you is innocent, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

The virtue of patience has helped You be wise in your responses. Through the above saying, You teach me to look back at myself to see how many mistakes I have made in my life, and to have mercy on my brothers when they make mistakes.

You have mercy, but You do not tolerate that woman, when You told her:

“I do not judge you either, go and do not sin again.”

The second time, You was trapped by the Pharisees, when they came to ask You whether they should pay taxes to the Roman government.

Jewish people were under the domination of the Romans at that time.

If You said do not pay taxes, they would report You to the Romans that You belonged to a reactionary resistance group, and You would be arrested.

If You said to pay taxes, they would say You were unpatriotic. At that time, the Zealot resistance movement was active, and some people wanted You to participate in overthrowing the ruling regime and liberating the Jewish people.

Patience and wisdom helped You respond to the trap they set. You did not tell them whether or not to pay taxes, but asked them to show You a silver coin. When You held the coin, You asked:

"Whose image is on the coin?"

They answered:

“It’s Caesar."

You said:

"Give back to Caesar what is Caesar's, and give back to God what is God's."

Through patience, You showed me that no one could disturb or destroy your peace of mind, leading you to anger and hatred.

Let me know You, and let me know myself. Know You to listen to Your Word, and put it into practice in my daily life. Know me to change my path to Your righteous one, to have Heaven in my heart, and You are always with me.

Please bless all those who read this meditation in my Blog.

AMEN.
