January 14, 2026. Jesus Walks on Water...“Take courage! It is Me. Don't be afraid!”

 

Jesus Walks on Water

After feeding the five thousand people in the wilderness with 5 loaves and 2 fish, Jesus told his disciples to get into a boat and go ahead to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. He went up into the mountains to pray. By evening, he was still there alone, while the boat was far from shore, being tossed about by the waves because the wind was against them.

Early in the morning, Jesus came to them. When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified and cried out:

 “It’s a ghost!”

But Jesus said,

“Take courage! It is Me. Don't be afraid!”

Peter replied,

“Lord, if it is You, tell me to come to You on the water.”

He said,

“Come!”

Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind, he was afraid and began to sink. He cried out:

“Lord, save me!”

Immediately, Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. He said,

“You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

When they got into the boat, the wind died down. Then those in the boat worshiped him, saying,

“Truly you are the Son of God.”

Dear Lord,

Indeed, many people lack faith. In this difficult earthly life, we go through periods of sunshine and rain, thunder and storms… Today's life is full of deceit, treachery, sickness, suffering, death, and separation. Many times, afraid of life, I have run to You. Without You, how could we get through this life in peace? You are an oasis, a pond, a fertile area with shade and fresh water in the scorching desert of life. You are our boundless source of comfort. You say:

“Do not be afraid, I am with you.”

“I will lead you to green pastures, beside still waters, where you can rest after each arduous journey.”

Please help me, Lord, to have unwavering faith so that I may continue my journey through life with You, until the day I return to our Father's House.

Let me know You, and let me know myself. Know You to listen to Your Word, and put it into practice in my daily life. Know me to change my path to Your righteous one, to have Heaven in my heart, and You are always with me.
