 Dear Jesus,

Easter has passed. Some wonder whether Judas Iscariot was guilty or innocent.

Many people say that he was innocent. This is the scenario that God the Father prepared when He consent His Son to earth to become a human like us, and Judas was chosen to be the one who betrayed his Teacher, Jesus. If Judas had not betrayed Jesus, He would not have died on the cross and would not have saved humanity from sin.

Was Judas chosen by God the Father to be the one who betrayed Jesus? If so, Judas was completely innocent.

This scenario is unlikely to happen. No earthly father would want his son to die in a horrible and miserable way like Jesus died on Golgotha, let alone the Almighty and All-Good God the Father. He would never let this tragic event happen. He has thousands of ways to save humanity from sin instead of the above scenario. Even without Judas, Jesus would have died because of the evil of humanity.

You came down from Heaven to tell us that there is a Father in Heaven who loves us with an Unconditional Love.

You came to revise the law of Moses:

"An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", by teaching us:

"If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the left one",

"If anyone tells you to take off your coat, turn to them your shirt”,

"If anyone tells you to go with them one mile, go two miles”.

The Pharisees had been watching and observing all of your sermons, words, and actions since the day You began preaching, to see if you kept the law of Moses. You were caught "eating without washing your hands" according to the Jewish purification.  You retorted:

“What comes in from the outside is not as dirty as what comes out from the inside, as hateful words causing division, false testimony…”

They accused You and the apostles of not keeping the Sabbath day, when your apostles were hungry walking through the grain fields, and plucked the ears of grain and ate them, or You healed the paralyzed on the Sabbath…

They sentenced You to death when You called yourself the Son of God. They said You were blasphemous.

Judas was indeed an extra character in this case. Whether Judas existed or not, the Pharisees  condemned You anyway.

Where did Judas’ soul go when he died? Who judged him?

Is it You or the Father who judges?

You often taught:

“Do not judge, that you will not be judged.”

Is it not reasonable that You teach us and go against your teachings?

In the story of “the woman caught in the act of adultery”, You said:

“Neither do I judge you, go and sin no more.

 On the cross, You prayed:

“Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

And does God the Father judge Judas? Certainly not. The Almighty and the All-Good, certainly not, He pours sunshine and rain on both the good and the bad.

So who judges Judas? His own conscience judges him.

After receiving 30 silver coins from the hand of the High Priest’s servant, Judas was extremely disappointed. He thought he would be called to appear before the Sanhedrin, honored for having handed over his Master.

He left the Jerusalem temple, on the way,  looked up at Golgotha, and saw his Master crucified on the cross. He was terrified. Returning to the temple, he pushed aside the gatekeeper and ran straight to the Jewish Council, where they were meeting, and said:

You insulted me by paying me with money, the price of a slave. I repent what I have done. I have sinned by shedding innocent blood…Here, I will return your money.”

One of the Council said to him:

“Your Teacher has been condemned to death by the Romans. Your repentance has nothing to do with us. Get out of here.”

Judas left the Council and threw the 30 pieces of silver on the floor of the Temple. He carried on his soul an extreme suffering and loneliness. The man who had once been an ambassador of Heaven to preach the Good News, now walked in despair, no one can comfort him.

He left Jerusalem and went to the Valley of Hinnom, climbed a high rock, untied his belt, tied one end around his neck, and the other end to a tree branch above, and left himself alone in the abyss. At the moment of extreme confusion and despair , he didn’t tie the knot on the branch correctly, it was loose and he fell into the abyss and was destroyed.

Dear Jesus,

Looks like Judas had repented, will he go to Heaven?

Dear little child,

No. As he lives, so he dies. How can he go to Heaven when his mind is in chaos, confusion and despair? Heaven is where souls leave the earth and are pure and calm. He will go to the realm of despair. Is this hell? Probably, but not forever. One day, he will truly call upon Me, and I will come and take him out of this realm.

Thank you Jesus, for shedding light on the matter and helping me see it clearly.
