April 18, 2026. Dear Jesus, You always spoke the truth during your teaching years.
Dear Jesus,
You always spoke the truth during your teaching years.
You spoke the truth even in the most difficult and dangerous events. You never once uttered a lie. Looking back at Your trial—from the court of Annas to Caiaphas, back to Pilate, on to Herod, and finally back to Pilate to be condemned to death—You rarely answered your prosecutors or refuted the false testimonies against You.
When Pilate, having failed in his attempts to save You, summoned You into a private chamber and asked:
“Truly, who are You?”
You boldly declared:
“I am the Son of God”.
You knew this answer would be deemed blasphemy by the Jewish Pharisees and would result in a death sentence. You could not have answered otherwise, for this is the truth You had revealed on many occasions to Your apostles and disciples.
Today, the media is rife with fake news and stories that tell only half-truths—and a half-truth is not the truth. It seeks to manipulate audiences into believing whatever they say, thereby leading people astray.
So many people are reluctant to speak the truth, they are paralyzed by fears. In the workplace, speaking the truth will cost their jobs; among friends, causing offense or alienating others; and within the Church, excommunication or being stripped of their ministry.
Few remain who possess the courage to speak the truth, to stand up for the weak and the voiceless, or to defend someone against false accusations when that person is not present to defend himself.
You have always instructed me to speak the truth, even if doing so entails personal loss or disadvantage in this earthly life.
The eleven apostles who followed You, later joined by Matthias, to replace Judas the betrayer, walked your path to the very end. With the exception of John, who died of old age, the other eleven remained faithful to your Word, going forth to proclaim the Truth throughout the world, and accepted violent deaths to bear witness to God.
In the eyes of the world, they were failures; yet in the eyes of God, they were the true victors, for You had said:
“My Kingdom is not of this world. This worldly realm is merely temporary; your glory and happiness will be immeasurable if you remain faithful to your promise to follow in My footsteps and practice what I teach.”
Grant me, O Master, the courage to bear witness to You and to create a little Heaven around me.
Let me know You, and let me know myself. Know You to listen to Your Word, and put it into practice in my daily life. Know me to change my path to Your righteous one, to have Heaven in my heart, and You are always with me.
May my meditation bring many more readers, who are not yet believers, into your Forever Family.
Please bless all those who read this meditation in my Blog.
AMEN.
