October 22, 2026. Dear Jesus, You said: "I have conquered the world." In what sense, then, is the world conquered?
Dear Jesus,
You said:
"I have conquered the world." In what sense, then, is the world conquered?
Beloved,
The statement "I have conquered the world"—recorded in the Gospel of John 16:33—is one of the most significant lessons I gave to my apostles and disciples, especially when viewed in the context of my dual natures: Human as a human being, and Divine as God.
"The world" does not refer to the good, physical world created by God; rather, it signifies a system of sin: evil, pride, selfishness, greed, anger, delusion, the full spectrum of volatile human emotions, the fear of death, and the dominion of the devil over humanity. Conquering the world is not a military conquest, but the shattering of that toxic power.
I came into this world to become human, just like you. I triumphed over my own human nature to live entirely according to the Will of God the Father.
As a human being, I conquered the world by overcoming every temptation and suffering that mortals must endure.
Unlike your first ancestor, Adam—or humanity in general, which so easily falls prey to the allure of worldly glory, power, and selfishness—I lived a life of complete obedience to the Will of God the Father.
I conquered selfishness through self-sacrificing love.
I conquered suffering and death:
On the Cross, the world employed violence, humiliation, and death to destroy Me. Yet, I met these with forgiveness:
"Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."
When I forgave and gave love even while being crucified, the power of hatred in this world fails completely.
I triumphed over worldly human nature through my Divine nature as God.
Through my divinity, I rendered that victory transcendent—beyond the confines of time and space—and eternal, by way of the Resurrection.
Death could not hold Me, for I am the very Source of life. My rising from the dead serves as the ultimate proof that the world’s most formidable power—death itself—has been broken.
I once declared to my apostles and disciples:
"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; whoever follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life.’
I am, moreover, the Resurrection itself.
By virtue of my divine nature, the sacrificial value of my death on the Cross possesses infinite power—erasing the sins of all humanity and opening a path to salvation that the world had once firmly shut.
Beloved,
The union of my human and divine natures gives profound meaning to your own life.
If I were only God, my victory over the world would be a foregone conclusion—nothing remarkable, and of no real help to humanity, for ‘God is not like you.’ But because I am God who became human—experiencing hunger, thirst, betrayal, and fear just as you do—I am able to empathize deeply with you.
My victory serves as both a model and a source of strength for humanity. I did not conquer the world for my own sake, but to bestow that victory upon my disciples. This is why, before my departure, I spoke these words to encourage those who would follow in my footsteps:
‘In this world, you will face hardships and tribulations. But take courage! for I have conquered the world.”
I have triumphed over evil, worldly glory, riches, power, greed, anger, delusion, and the full spectrum of human emotions—joy, rage, and hatred—to teach you loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity... so that you may possess peace—a peace that the world cannot give.
I once said:
"Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart."
It is for this very reason that, at the Last Supper, I knelt down to wash the feet of the Apostles—even those of Judas, who would betray Me only moments later.
In short, I conquered the world by using My human nature to endure suffering and remain obedient to the very end, and then, by using My divine nature, I transformed that death into a glorious life through the Resurrection—utterly shattering the chains of sin and death.
Dear Jesus,
Let me know You, and let me know myself. Know You to listen to Your Word, and put it into practice in my daily life. Know me to change my path to Your righteous one, to have Heaven in my heart, and You are always with me.
May my meditation bring many more readers, who are not yet believers, into your Forever Family.
Please bless all those who read this meditation in my Blog.
AMEN.
I say the Lord’s Prayer and Maria full of grace day and night and any time in between asking them what they want me to do their way while I am on earth! Amen
